Fees/Rebates 

 

Fees

  • Initial Consultation: 60 to 90 minutes - $170

​

It is preferable to allow up to 90 minutes for the initial consultation.  This provides some time for the inevitable administrative matters and, importantly, time to focus on the psychological issues of concern to you.  The initial consultation is a most important one and allocating 90 minutes for it can be a key to laying a sound foundation for therapy and for productive outcomes.  

 

  • Follow-Up Consultations: These are generally of about an hour each  - $170​

Medicare Rebates

  • Medicare rebates for up to 10 psychological therapy sessions a year may be available for mental health issues. This requires referral from a GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician.

 

  • The rebate is $84.80 for a one hour psychological therapy session.

 

Private Health Fund

  • Private Health Funds may provide rebates for mental health treatment.  Eligibility and rates vary and details are available from the particular Fund.

 

  • Often Funds require the Fund member to have utilised all of the rebates available under Medicare before being eligible for a Fund contribution.
